Position Summary

Responsible for supervising and coaching the Garland Gator recreational swim team.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Oversee operations of the Garland Gators recreational swim team.
  2. Provide positive swim instruction to all participants.
  3. Register swimmers for and attend swim meets.
  4. Maintain effective communications with Aquatics Manager and Pool Managers.
  5. Maintain effective communication with guardians of swim team participants.
  6. Provide exemplary customer service to participants and parents.
  7. Ensure a safe and inviting environment for swim team participants.
  8. Prepare pool for swim team practice and events.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

 

Preferred Knowledge - Abilities & Skills

 

Education/ Experience:     

  • Preferred high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma and college degree
  • Preferred level of experience; three years experience in coaching a swim team
  • Ability to perform physical activity as required
  • Instruction in a swim program or Swim Team experience
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions

 

Licenses & Certifications

Valid Class C Texas driver's license required

Physical Tasks & Working Conditions

The incumbent typically works in an indoor/outdoor environment with exposure to all weather conditions under direct sunlight and may be required to walk, bend, stoop and lift a minimum of forty pounds.

Minimum Education & Work Experience

High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
3 years experience in coaching or assistant coaching a swim team
Must possess a Valid Class C Texas driver's license
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
