  • Position Summary


    Responsible for supervising the operational support and financial reporting activities of the Environmental Waste Services department; managing processing of accounts payable, purchasing and other revenue generating operations. Preparation and monitoring of annual operating budgets and capital improvement submissions.


    Essential Job Functions

    1. Monitor invoice receipts and accounts payable daily functions
    2. Oversee application of planning and control functions of the financial activities of the department.
    3. Organize and direct preparation of monthly financial statements and monthly sales report.
    4. Administer and review monthly billing and revenue reporting related to scale house operations.
    5. Monitor and control flow of cash receipts and disbursements
    6. Prepare and oversee annual operating budgets and capital improvement submissions
    7. Review and approve accounts payable process
    8. Review and approve purchasing procurement process
    9. Monitor progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions
    10. Establish procedure for custody and control of physical assets.
    11. Oversee administrative support operations for the Department. Evaluate staff performance, assess training needs and develop improvements to workflow.
    12. Provide analysis of business objectives and develop solutions to business issues.


    Preferred Knowledge - Abilities & Skills

    Education/ Experience:     

    • Master’s Degree in Finance, Business, Public Administration or similar field of study
    • 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting and/or auditing or related experience

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Extensive knowledge in fields of business managerial concepts
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to details
    • Skill in research, analysis, and data measurement techniques and tools
    • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and other software
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills

    • Ability to interact with employees at all levels

    Licenses & Certifications

    Valid Class C Texas driver's license

    Minimum Education & Work Experience

     4 year college degree in Finance, Business or related field
     3 years related experience with progressive responsibility
