  • Position Summary

    Responsible for technical theatre assignments at the Granville Arts Center Theatres, Plaza Theatre and Atrium. Also, responsible for ticket sales in the box office using a computerized ticketing system.

     

    Target Hiring Range: $12.27/hr - $14.70/hr

    Essential Job Functions

    1) Operate and instruct others in the use of theatre sound and lighting equipment.
    2) Sell tickets using computerized ticketing system.
    3) Work closely with clients and staff in setting up and ensuring smooth operation of all technical equipment in all theatres.
    4) Greet patrons and answer questions regarding rentals, ticket sales, directions etc.

    Preferred Knowledge - Abilities & Skills

    Education/ Experience:
     Some college education
     Some technical theatre experience


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
     Advanced knowledge in theatre sound and lighting equipment
     Knowledge of basic computer operations
     Skill in handling cash and balancing a cash drawer
     Ability to multi-task in demanding box office environment
     Ability to provide quality customer service
     Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

    Physical Tasks & Working Conditions

    The incumbent will have to stand or walk through multi-levels of buildings, crawl through confined spaces, climb up a 20 ft. ladder to catwalk, lift and/or carry a maximum of 50 lbs. Also, work in a box office and theatre environment; occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work.

    Minimum Education & Work Experience

     High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
     Experience with theatre sound and/or lighting equipment
