  • Position Summary

    Responsible for assisting with customer service for all activities, events and services including box office sales scheduled at the PRCAD facilities. 

     

    Target Hiring Range: $12.00/hr - $14.70/hr

    Essential Job Functions

    1. Assist the public by answering phones as required to give information regarding programs, schedules and other related information.
    2. Assist in control of equipment and supplies.
    3. Provide customer services to patrons in the center and on the phone.
    4. Register participants in the computer system.
    5. Enforce and maintain City and Departmental policies as needed.
    6. Interpret and relate departmental rules and policies.
    7. Assist the public in the sale of tickets for events in Arts Center facilities.
    8. Process ticket sales and balance daily ticket receipts for multiple groups. Handle monetary transactions, exchanges and refunds.
    9. Oversee the processing of credit card machines on a daily basis.
    10. Answering multiple phone lines and directing patrons for assistance.

    Preferred Knowledge - Abilities & Skills

    Education/ Experience:     

    • 1-3 years experience in customer service industry

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • General knowledge of various recreational activities and the ability to communicate
    • Skill to operate equipment and perform physical work as required
    • Skill to operate office equipment, computers, telephones, and photocopiers
    • Skill in utilizing tools required for technical work
    • Ability to understand and follow instructions
    • Ability to work without continuous supervision

    Physical Tasks & Working Conditions

    The incumbent works in a typical office environment; relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Shift requires weekend work and a varying schedule.

    Minimum Education & Work Experience

     High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
     1 year experience in general customer service and/or basic computer skills

    Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
