Position Summary

The City of Garland Student Ambassador Program provides paid internships to high school, college and skilled trades students each year. In support of the City Manager’s Strategic Initiative- Future-Focused City Organization- students will gain valuable work, community and public service experience through various positions throughout the City. Essential Job Functions

  • May be responsible for various tasks and assignment in the department.
  • May help in preparing written reports, communication or correspondence on behalf of the department.
  • May attend various events and functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Work Experience

 Undergraduate students who have advanced to core degree program curriculum (Junior or higher) or Graduate students at any level.
 At least 16 years of age

Preferred Knowledge - Abilities & Skills

  • Advanced technical and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to take on challenges and learn at a quick pace.

Licenses & Certifications

 Valid Licensure/Certification in related field or in progress

Physical Tasks & Working Conditions

Depending on the location of the internship, the incumbent may be exposed to some unpleasant environmental conditions
