Position Summary

Responsible for assisting with building maintenance and customer service for all activities, events and services scheduled at the PRCAD facilities. 

 

Target Hiring Range: $12.00/hr - $14.70/hr

 

Essential Job Functions

  1. Prepare building for daily operations.
  2. Maintain exterior of buildings, sidewalks and suitability of bathrooms for public use.
  3. Assist the public as required regarding registration, special events, etc.
  4. Provide information regarding programs, schedules and other related information.
  5. Provide minor and routine repairs and maintenance to facility.
  6. Report repairs to a supervisor or manager. 
  7. Provide on-site facility supervision in absence of staff.
  8. May transport heavy boxes or items using a hand truck.
  9. Maintain a clean and safe building by sweeping, mopping, picking up litter, etc.
  10. Enforce and maintain City and Departmental policies as needed.
  11. Interpret and relate departmental rules and policies.

 

Minimum Education & Work Experience

 High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
 No experience required
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Knowledge - Abilities & Skills

Education/ Experience:     

  • Experience and training with basic cleaning methods and chemical

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:           

  • General knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in maintenance, minor repairs, usage of chemicals and cleaning solutions on floors and buildings
  • Skill in basic first aid and CPR procedures
  • Skill to operate equipment and perform physical work as required
  • Skill to operate office equipment, computers, telephones, and photocopiers
  • Skill in utilizing tools required for technical and custodial work
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to work without continuous supervision

Physical Tasks & Working Conditions

Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work. Incumbent may be exposed to hazardous conditions while using cleansing chemicals. Physical tasks will include working with tools, lifting, squatting, climbing, bending, stooping, walking, and carrying supplies, as needed, to accomplish the tasks of the activity on a daily basis. This is a part-time position limited to working 1,000 hours in a 12-month period.
