Position Summary

Responsible for providing technical and analytical assistance and support to internal and external customers (employees and retirees) regarding Human Resources Health, Wellness and Retirement benefits and related metrics and reporting.

 

Target Hiring Range - $52,978 - $65,666

Essential Job Functions

Health, Wellness & Retirement

  1. Administer Benefit function systems administration, data entry and reporting.
  2. Conduct employee benefit sessions and related follow-up to Plan participants.
  3. Assist with annual benefits open enrollment, new hire and life event administration.
  4. Verify eligibility of employee and retiree benefit programs
  5. Assist with vendor billing and participant reconciliations.
  6. Provide support of Other Post-Employment Benefits.
  7. Partner with external vendors via phone, e-mail and service portals.
  8. Assist with strategic initiatives, reporting, metrics and other analysis as directed. 

Minimum Education & Work Experience

Associate’s Degree or equivalent college coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field
1-3 years of related experience in benefits administration, human resources or customer support
Intermediate experience with MS Office, specifically MS Excel or related analytics applications
Ability to comfortably lead employee benefit presentations and meetings
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.



Preferred Knowledge - Abilities & Skills

Education/ Experience:   

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field
  • 1-3 years of direct experience in benefits administration or human resources support preferred
  • Advanced level experience in MS Office, specifically MS Excel or related analytics applications
  • Direct experience developing and/or leading group presentations, meetings or events- both instructor-led and virtual

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:          

  • Intermediate knowledge of business practices and procedures
  • Consistent attention to detail and ability to proactively seek opportunities for process improvements
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to make organizational recommendations and guide actionable outcomes tied to metrics, trends and problem identification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, effectively managing multiple projects on target and as directed
  • Ability to present information in an organized, logical manner and ensure execution as expected for all core functions
  • Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette skills
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment

Licenses & Certifications

Valid Class C Texas driver's license

Physical Tasks & Working Conditions

The incumbent works in a typical office environment; relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards.
