Position Summary

Responsible for assisting with building maintenance and customer service for all activities, events and services scheduled at the PRCAD facilities. 

 

 

Target Hiring Range: $12.00/hr - $14.70/hr

Essential Job Functions

  1. Assist the public as required to give information regarding programs, schedules and other related information.
  2. Assist in control of equipment and supplies.
  3. Provide customer services to patrons in the center and on the phone.
  4. Register participants in the computer system.
  5. Maintain a clean and safe building by sweeping, mopping, picking up litter, etc.
  6. Enforce and maintain City and Departmental policies as needed.
  7. Interpret and relate departmental rules and policies.

Minimum Education & Work Experience

 High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
 No experience required
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Knowledge - Abilities & Skills

Education/ Experience:

  • Up to 1 year experience in customer service industry

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • General knowledge of various recreational activities and the ability to communicate
  • General knowledge of various methods in supervising software programs
  • Skill in basic first aid and CPR procedures
  • Skill to operate equipment and perform physical work as required
  • Skill to operate office equipment, computers, telephones, and photocopiers
  • Skill in utilizing tools required for technical and custodial work
  • Ability to organize recreation activities
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to work without continuous supervision

Physical Tasks & Working Conditions

Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work. Incumbent is exposed to hazardous conditions while using cleansing chemicals. Physical tasks will include working with tools, lifting, squatting, climbing, bending, stooping, walking, and carrying supplies, as needed, to accomplish the tasks of the activity on a daily basis.

This is a Part-time position limited to working 1,000 hrs. in a 12 month period.
