Education/ Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Emergency Response or similar field of study
- 2- years-experience in emergency management
- Experience as a program coordinator in a public safety/emergency management organization
- Experience as an adult trainer or educator in Emergency Management
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- General knowledge of the National Incident Management System and Texas Division of Emergency Management grant system
- General knowledge of Emergency Management best practices and municipal government operations, including emergency planning and preparedness, training and exercise development, and disaster recovery
- Excellent skill in communication both verbally and in writing; strong technical writing skills
- Skill in effective problem solving and conflict resolution
- Considerable knowledge of emergency Proficient skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to tactfully respond to requests and inquiries from managers, employees and the general public
- Ability to perform assignments in a timely fashion
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to learn quickly and utilize resources to research a variety of information
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, and rapidly changing environment
