Responsible for performing semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of streets and alleys.

 

Target Hiring Range: $14.21/hr - $17.10/hr

1. Operate 12 yard dump truck.

2. Transport materials between job sites.

3. Maintain street and alley pavement by:

• patching distressed areas with hot and cold asphalt material
• level lifting distressed areas utilizing polyurethane injection equipment
• sealing joints and cracks by applying a hot tar sealant

4. Attend safety meetings on a monthly basis.

5. Perform pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and complete daily work sheet for equipment operated.

6. Clean and maintain job site.

7. Keep work location and vehicle(s) in order.

 

 High School Diploma or equivalent
 No experience necessary
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of, experience or training in construction and maintenance of streets and alleys.
• Knowledge of safety practices and hazards standard to work area
• Skill to operate various equipment and machinery
• Ability to understand and implement verbal and written instructions
• Ability to perform physical labor
• Ability to comprehend written and oral work assignments and perform work as assigned

 

 

 Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a Tanker Endorsement or the ability to obtain within six months of hire
 Valid Class C Texas driver's license

The incumbent works in a field environment including construction sites; frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more several times daily.
